Day 01 USA – San Jose
Upon your arrival to the San Jose’s International Airport, clear customs and immigrations and exit the Airport, a representative from our company will meet you and present you with land portion vouchers. He will provide a private overland transfer to your hotel in San Jose (driving time: 30 minutes approximately).
The capital of Costa Rica, San Jose is located in the heart of the Meseta Central or Central Valley. Sitting in the northern region of San Jose province, San Jose sits right in the center of Costa Rica. This central location therefore, allows the capital to have direct access routes to all parts of the country. With a pleasant climate and temperate weather, San Jose province enjoys mild to moderate temperatures throughout the year, hovering around 70 degrees Fahrenheit. This near perfect weather thus makes the San Jose province one of the most populated in Costa Rica. Today thousands of visitors seek out the Central Highlands, where coffee-covered mountains lead into a lush green valley.
Day 01-02 San Jose

Day 02 San Jose – San Ramon
Morning transfer to the San Jose outskirts up to the San Ramon town (driving time: 2 hours approximately).
Lying in the stunningly beautiful Central Valley of Costa Rica in Alajuela province is the tiny city of San Ramon. The second largest district in the province, San Ramon lies an hour away northwest of the capital San Jose, and is easily accessible by road from Alajuela city. Set amidst a dramatic landscape of mountains, San Ramon is a close-knit place with strong community ties and has a slow relaxed pace of life. You can reach San Ramon by flying into the Juan Santa Maria International Airport, San Jose, and then drive out directly to the city, or you can first drive to Alajuela and then go on to San Ramon. Either way, you will be treated to some lovely scenic views along the way. Also known as ‘the city of presidents and poets,’ many of Costa Rica’s great political and literary figures were born or have lived here, including former presidents Jose Figueres Ferrer and Rodrigo Carazo, as well as celebrated poets Lisimaco Chavarria Palma and Feliz Angel Salas Cabezas. In the main square of the city, is an impressive church. North of the square, lies the city’s museum, the Museo de San Ramon, which features a re-creation of a traditional campesino home, and focuses on the part that this city played in Costa Rican history and culture. While most of the people living in San Ramon are into farming and agriculture, plenty of them also have jobs in the capital San Jose and travel daily back and forth to work. Coffee is a major product of the area. However, this city also has three cigar factories as well. Saturday morning is the perfect time to experience San Ramon, as there is a farmer’s market or feria del agricultor held with many people coming here to sell their vegetables, fruit and cattle. If you are in the city around the month of August, do try to stay for San Ramon Day, when the entire town comes alive with parades, music, and dancing.
Day 02-04 San Ramon

Day 03 San Ramon

It has no steps or obstacles to compete with the enjoyment of observing the countless variety of tropical flora and fauna along this guided nature interpretive walk. With only 2.5% of the planet’s cloud forest remaining, the unique energy of this cloud shrouded forest habitat continues to marvel both scientists, including the Para taxonomists from INBio (The Institute of Biodiversity), who are located at our own research station and novices alike.
Day 04 San Ramon – Jaco Hills
Morning transfer t the mid pacific side of the country (driving time: 2 hours approx).
A laidback bustling town, Jaco is one of the most popular Costa Rican beaches. Located in the North of the Puntarenas province along the country’s central Pacific Coast less than 2 hours from San Jose, Jaco has the reputation of being a ‘party beach’ with an excellent nightlife. However, the fun here is casual and relaxed, and the people here are nice and friendly. Catering mostly to a huge number of foreign tourists who want to enjoy a more tranquil lifestyle, Jaco has a nice clean beach that is especially popular in the summer. Easily accessible by all, Playa Jaco is about 3 km long and is best reached by catching an International flight to San Jose and then driving out here. The areas to the north and south of Jaco are some of the most picturesque and cleanest, with stunningly gorgeous panoramic ocean views. You need to be careful about swimming here, as riptides are quite common along the beach shore.
Day 04-07 Jaco Hills

Day 05 Carara Biological Reserve
Morning pick up at the hotel to visit Carara National Park. This gorgeous natural sanctuary is home to approximately 48% of Costa Rica’s aviary species, making this tour ideal for bird watching enthusiasts. There are 2 possible trails to explore each of them about 2 miles in length. During your hike, the nature guide will stop to point out exemplary species and offer explanations about the different things you see along the way. Half way through the hike you will take a 20 minute pit stop to rest and admire the scenery. One of the incredible highlights is the opportunity to see red macaws flying overhead. After exploring the park you will journey over to the Tarcoles Bridge where you can look down and admire the enormous crocodiles that call the river home. This is a great time to take advantage of your camera and get some story-worthy snapshots for back home.
Day 06 Hanging Bridges
Visit Villa Lapas, a natural reserve that borders Carara national park. The Sky Way is an exciting tour that includes 5 hanging bridges, each measuring 100m in length suspended 60m off the ground. Throughout this hike you will be able to observe primary and secondary rainforest vegetation. Keep your eyes open to see the numerous bird species, mammals and other varied fauna that call this forest home. From your new found perspective you will enjoy scenic views of the Pacific Ocean and Tarcoles River (notorious worldwide among crocodile and bird enthusiasts). A guide will accompany you throughout this interesting tour ensuring that you complete this memorable experience knowledgeable on the wildlife and vegetation of our beautiful country. This passive 1 hour is appropriate for all ages.
Day 07 Jaco Hills – San Jose
Free morning to explore the area on your own or just relax taking advantage of the hotel facilities. In the afternoon a private overland transfer will take you back to the central valley (driving time: 2 hours approx).
Day 07-08 San Jose
1 night´s accommodations in San Jose at the Costa Rica Marriott Hotel (double executive floor) or similar. (B included).
Day 08 San Jose – USA
Departure transfer back to the International Airport on time to take your flight back home. Due to local regulations, international travelers need to check in around 3 hours before flight departure. End of services.
